Mazzy Star: She Hangs Brightly (Vinyl LP)

She Hangs Brightly is the debut album from guitarist Dave Roback and vocalist Hope Sandoval. Released in 1990, it is an incredible mixture of dream-pop and layered psychedelic rock sounds. The album features songs such as "Halah", "Ride It On" and "Be My Angel".

Drawing primarily from the swirling, textured drone of such '60s groups as the Velvet Underground and the Doors, Mazzy Star also incorporate blues, country, and pulsing acoustic folk elements, creating a highly textured and luminous amalgam. The band's auspicious debut is a rich, atmospheric bag of tricks.
